About

I blogged here from May 2013 until December 2014 – as I embarked on a journey from Pretoria, South Africa to British Columbia, Canada. At the time I had no idea how long I would be going – one of those exciting, unpredictable adventures that I love so much. All I did know was that I would be helping out in a small church several hours north of Vancouver.

My main aim with this blog was to try to capture the whole trip for posterity – in both words and photography – a form of online diary with which I can keep in touch with friends and family across the globe.

I returned in July 2016 for three months, and continued the narrative where I’d left off in 2014.

I don’t know how exciting it may be. I don’t know what I will experience, but you may find something that grabs your attention; you may want to follow along. In that case, welcome … You will probably find me blogging about everyday life, which includes my life in the church …

  1. Greetings from Australia,
I sincerely wish you all the best on your journey through life. I see that God is using you as a shining light to guide and inspire those whom you met along your journey. Take great care of yourself.
    God bless

  2. If you are in the Quesnel area, you’re not that far (3-4 hours) from Bridge Lake. Check out our blog at bridgelakephotogroup.wordpress.com. You’ll find lots of fellow photographers here.

I very much like your church photos. But most of all I wish we could see all of your Home page background photo. Looks fascinating.

  3. Hi, I am the structural engineer who designed the restoration of the Quesnel Timber Truss bridge. I found your photographs which were very beautiful. I would like to post a couple of these pictures on my engineering web site if you would have no objections. We would of course give credit to you with each photograph.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Please leave a comment with your (relevant & reverent) thoughts.
