I’ve noticed recently that the freight trains passing through town seem to be sporting more graffiti than last year. I doubt whether the trains are being tagged in the small towns up here in the Cariboo, or whether graffiti is suddenly legal, but perhaps the big-city graffiti artists are just becoming more bold and upping their game. Also, it seems that rookies are getting in on the action – posting their little messages of support to graduates and observations about love, life and everything else.
Whatever the case, a few nights ago I forced myself out of hibernation in my basement and down to the station to shoot some of the rail cars. A light drizzle was falling, meaning the sky wasn’t particularly awe-inspiring, but it was good to wander down the tracks, camera in hand.
The “CN” you see on many of the rail cars stands for the Canadian National Railway Company (just as a matter of interest.)
