Nanaimo: Bathtub Racing Capital of the World

Last weekend I spent a day and a half in Nanaimo, the harbour city about a quarter of the way up Vancouver Island’s east coast. It was way too short a visit, and I only got a few hours on the cloudy Saturday afternoon to explore downtown. What I saw definitely had me wanting to come back for more to this town established midway through the 19th Century. Here, just a few photos snapped on the chilly afternoon. Oh, what I would have done for some sunshine!

  1. It’s all in the eye of the beholder. i love how we all see things so differently. A new view on Nanaimo for me! The glassy reflective water always captivates me too!
