I love when I have nothing planned for a particular day; that it gets to just unfold before me – a potential surprise around every turn. Here’s how my Saturday afternoon panned out, starting with when I decided to go for a little walk alone.
I met Nicky the neighbourhood dog, and we went for a walk together.
Then she came along to some of the neighbourhood kids where she had a ball as they threw snowballs for her to catch.
NOT the regular use for a trampoline.
Just bundled up and waiting for mom to pull him.
Then a girl called Life called me to come over for a visit. There I was met by her “Calvin & Hobbes style” snowmen.
And her dad was making bear boerewors (farmer’s sausage).
Complete with the heart and all!
Then “Life”, the girl in red and I went for a drive around Dragon Lake, where we saw this eagle in a tree,
And some cold horses,
A crooked fence,
A beautiful, typical-of-this-area barn
And two skulls.
The sun was setting, so we popped in to some friends who just happened to live on our route home.
Quite fortuitously, Dave was busy making chelsea buns (or is that sticky buns?)
And so we stayed, of course, for some tea and sweet sweet confectionery…
Well after dark we headed for home. Quite the perfect Saturday afternoon, I’d say.
