Shooting seagulls

"What you wanna do then?" ... "I don't know, what should we do?" ... I don't know. What do we do every day? Let's do that then."
“Two’s company; three’s a crowd … So, what you wanna do today then?” … “I don’t know, what should we do?” … “I don’t know. What you wanna do?”
“He was not bone and feather but a perfect idea of freedom and flight, limited by nothing at all” Jonathan Livingston Seagull

"I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life, To the gull's way and the whale's way, where the wind's like a whetted knife; And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover, And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over." John Masefield, Sea Fever

    1. The second shot was 105mm and cropped (but the gull was quite low) and the third was 200mm. I was shooting fast shutter speeds (1/1000 to 1/2000) at around f/2.8 while lying on my back waiting for them to fly overhead.

      1. Good to see I wasn’t completely wrong thinking among those lines. Thanks for the information. Makes me want to save up for a long lens. Again, great captures. Timing those must have been tedious.

      2. I’m learning that the more one practices the easier it gets… I took around eight shots in total, and decided to feature these two …

    1. Mostly people just tell me I have a gift for irritating people. But, thanks, Heidi … There are some days I just need to hear that more than other days.

  1. your pics are amazing! i didn’t realize an iPhone could take pics that amazing! ha ha. just kidding. The first pic looks almost like an end of the earth surreal pic. I love it!
